Can anyone provide information about websites that offer work-from-home opportunities with respect to typing legal documents, investigative reports, etc. Craigslist has not worked for me; primarily spammers or scams to take money and/or personal information. Information from people who are currently earning income in this capacity from on-line resources, or who may have previously utilized websites where they earned consistent income providing word processing services, would be appreciated. Please give detailed information regarding type of work, approximate rate of pay per hour, per document, etc. Thank you.
I had seen a segment on Good Morning America where Tory Johnson was helping people by providing names of websites that were legit, however, what I have seen is they all want to charge the usual "only $$$" start-up fee, etc. I refuse to pay $$$ to any website to enable others to take advantage of people who are serious about working from home.

Unfortunately, there just isn’t enough space here to answer your question with the amount of detail you are requesting.
I’ve done both medical and general transcription work and I know many virtual assistants. All work is done online; I’ve never even met many of my clients. If you don’t have the training in medical transcription but you have good word processing, spelling and grammar skills, then I suggest you consider working for a general transcription service, or find your own clients.
Have you looked into medical transcription yet? This is a true work at home profession that allows you to first train from home then to work from home. And it is a legitimate job. In fact, the department of labor has statistics on medical transcriptionists– you won’t find that for envelope stuffers or online survey takers! You do have to go through MT training before you can be hired. Tory Johnson mentions medical transcription as a work at home career in that segment she did for Good Morning America.
Here is a great site that has info on what to look for in a medical transcription training course: http://bestmedicaltranscriptiontraining.com/
