How Do I Get Into Legal Transcription; How Does It Work?

How is work given to me & how do I get it back to the employer? I'd like to get into legal transcription from home. I've worked for lawyers for over 20 years!

Contact any legal employment agency. Check the yellow pages online enter legal employment, than enter your city and state.

You should know this if you work in the industry for 20 years.

A legal transcriptionist does word processing and document preparation in a legal office. You have to have excellent keyboard skills, grammar and punctuation skills, and an excellent knowledge of legal terminology. Many legal transcriptionist work in offices or freelance and work at home. I think you should ask one of the lawyers you work with exactly what you need in the way of upgrading (you may not need any at all) and he will probably be able to guide you. If not, maybe your human resources department can be of assistance. I would also contact a few placement agencies to find out what the need for legal transcriptionists is in your area before you go ahead. Good luck!
